Yup - Winter is DEFINITELY here!! As I write this at 12:30 on Sunday afternoon, the temperature reads -10!! That's a little warmer than the -14 when I woke up!!

We had been away with the Jansens for 5 days (more about that another time) and we arrived home to huge amounts of snow on our street! So after we traipsed up and down the stairs a few times to empty the cars, we had the mother-of-all-snowball fights on the street! It was great and I think we ALL ended up with snow in our undies and down our backs!
Normally when it snows here in Kalrsruhe, it is long gone the next day! But we have had almost a week now of temperatures between -15 and -3 so the snow has stayed. It looks lovely out the window!
We took advantage of the school holidays and went into the Black Forest with the Jansens last week! Bryce had a turn at snowboarding! Blighter did really well! Except he is still suffering aches and pains (5 days later)!! He tells me he is not TOO OLD!!!!

Jorgi also tried her hand at snowboarding, but gave up after a while and reverted back to skiing! So Sam and Anna made the most of a free snowbard for a few minutes, until Anna's cold got the better of her and Susi and I headed home with the small kids, while the big kids went for another 5 hours!!!

It has been awesome having some of these experiences with people who know us so well!! Thanks guys for coming to visit us!!

Kate that looks amazing! What fun aye. Expect the awful cold. Man that photo out your window made me shiver just looking at it!!!
